Jerry Bustin, best welder I ever knew.

If you ever get a remanufactured cylinder from us and marvel at the welds that appear to be factory, you can thank this man, Jerry Bustin.  He has been welding for 33 years, many of those years right here at OEM. He does pretty much all of our welding.  He also assembles and tests cylinders and many other things.  Jerry is never shy to take on any task asked of him.  Tuesday, I asked him if he could fabricate a table for a new work station in our shop.  He reminded me that he spent a good deal of his life as a fabricator.  2 days later, he finished this table, made from raw materials.  It actually took him less than 8 hours, once the materials were procured.  It is extremely heavy duty, complete with storage shelf, and drip tray.  It is 100% square and perfectly dimensioned.  And in typical Jerry Bustin fashion, the welds look like a machine did them.  People like Jerry are getting harder to find, every day.  He’s not only an incredibly hard worker, but he’s a true gentleman, every day, all day.  We are very grateful that he decided to make a home at OEM.  Thanks Jerry!

Mike Hutyra, our first machinist

Mike came on board 16 years ago and revolutionized our company.  He is one of the most gifted machinists I’ve ever known, and so much more.  His ability to visualize and implement complex repairs and modifications, coupled with his eye for detail and perfection have contributed greatly to the success of OEM Replacement Parts.  All of his procedures retain the original dimensions of the parts, so that if someone needs a seal or bushing in the future, they can go to their local John Deere dealership and the repair parts will fit perfectly.  The only time Mike ever deviates from the original design is when he actually catches an engineering flaw and improves the product.  Even then, the original parts still fit.  Mike is a genius and although he doesn’t have the diploma, he is a gifted engineer.  He also takes on one responsibility after another until he is now 2nd in command after me, and his title is “Plant Manager.”  And he is also a gentleman and a down to Earth really good guy.  He’s the first one to get here every morning, and he works hard all day, every day.   Thanks for joining us Mike.  We couldn’t do it without you, sir.

Joe Laubert, our first mechanic.

This is Joe Laubert.  He is about to celebrate his 20th anniversary with OEM, being our first actual fulltime mechanic.  Joe spent many years as a factory trained Deere dealership technician, before joining us.  His hard work, extreme mechanical aptitude, and dedication make him a priceless contributor to our work.  At one time or another, every mechanic in our shop goes to Joe for advice.  Whenever a customer needs technical advice, Joe is there to help.  Plus, he is one of the most sincere kindhearted people you’ll ever meet.  He has been instrumental in taking this company to the top of the mountain in the Deere parts world. I can honestly say this company would not be what it is without Joe Laubert.  Thanks, my friend!
