Meet Jessica Mares!

Many years ago, we used to have a favorite teller at our bank. We changed banks but always talked about how this one lady made you feel so welcome. She was also incredibly effective and fast at getting the work done. And somehow, you just felt better after being around her. She, Rita Lopez, and Rita Bower have all of those quality in common, which is incredibly rare. Well, 9 months ago, she decided to leave the banking profession and come to work for us.

Jessica does many tasks at OEM. She works with our customers to get cores returned. She orders all of the rebuild parts for the shop. She performs 100 other office related tasks. She’s also the voice you hear, when a parts person doesn’t pick up the phone. When you hear that sparkly cheery voice, now you know who you’re talking to. Every morning, when we walk through that front door, she has the same cheerful, authentic smile and greeting. And she does the same for every employee, customer and vendor. I have a feeling she does that for every person she ever encounters. It’s in her DNA.

I always give new employees a speech about how the quality of the people you spend your time with is as important as any amount of money. We do pay our employees well but we really enjoy being around people we like and who like each other. Jessica is prime example of that. Every single employee loves this sweet lady. She came in the other day, on her day off, to show us her sparkly new boots. Not everyone can pull off such flashy footwear. But in Jessica’s case, these sparkly boots fit her and her sparkly disposition, perfectly. Actually, they need to be just a bit more sparkly…
