Monica Gardner, Brand Ambassador Supreme!

We can finally share the big news that Monica Gardner is joining OEM Replacement Parts! We’ve known this lady for many years and have always been fans. I don’t think it’s an overstatement to say she is the most beloved person in the entire industry. I’m still pinching myself but it appears to be real and not a dream.

Several years ago, Steve Hanson considered buying out my awesome partner and becoming my business partner at OEM. Before we could put a deal together, Steve had a terrible accident that eventually cost him his life. The deal never happened. Monica wasn’t aware of the deal because Steve is a man of his word (as am I) and didn’t discuss it with anyone. But she wasn’t surprised. She said one reason she’s comfortable coming to OEM is because Steve spoke of me frequently and in the best of terms. Steve was my and Monica’s mentor and hero. We know he’s smiling down at us right now. He would want this.

A year ago, she moved from Buffalo NY to Mesquite TX for her husband’s job. She’s been working remotely since. Recently, she decided to bring her awesome abilities to OEM Replacement Parts. Turns out, she and David Lopez are good friends, having worked together on Cat, Komatsu, Volvo and Deere part sales over the last decade +. When he told her about working at OEM, her impressions of this being a progressive, dynamic, cool place to work were confirmed. She will actually be on site starting tomorrow, through the end of the month. Then she’ll work primarily from home. Like JJ and David, Monica is one of those people who is super effective at communicating and creating interest, regardless of where she is. Between the 3 of them, we now have a dream team of representatives for this company. I’d go so far as to say the best trio in the industry. I asked Monica if she’d like to add some comments to this post and she offered the following:

Started out as the receptionist at HR Construction Parts in the late eighties after working a year I quit and they asked me to come back. Then working in accounting dept for a few years I quit and they asked me to come back and although I was still in accounting dept after 10 yrs I just knew my personality was too big to be dealing with numbers so I was going leave for the final time and Steve Hansen said NO
.
He put me in sales and after being in sales 22 years I was the top performing salesperson for 21 years STRAIGHT

I have a lot of uncles and cousins in this industry some have retired and some are still in the industry that have help groom me into the person I am today!

I have helped train people from other companies in this industry because people helped me!

I love being a woman in this male dominant industry
But I can hang with the best of them
Don’t let the pretty face fool you ….

David Lopez, Parts Man on a mission

This is David Lopez. He came to work here 1 year ago but we’ve known him for a while. His older brother JJ Lopez has known him his whole life! Back in 2008, JJ was working as a parts manager for an independent dealer and hired David as a parts man trainee. Within a year, David was in outside sales, bringing in new customers. A few years later, David had an opportunity to go to work for a Cat salvage yard and JJ wished him the best. Fast forward several years and OEM was looking for a bi-lingual parts man. I didn’t offer the job to David because he was happy at his job and he was working for one of my friends. David recommended his big brother and JJ joined us as sales manager, 10 years ago. Last year, David decided to join us and his brother at OEM. Since my friend had retired, and decided to close the operation, there was no longer a conflict for us doing Cat. David brought a decade of Cat knowledge and friends with him, and 10 megatons of energy and ideas. His presence here has been like an erupting volcano, forever changing the landscape, an 8th wonder of the world, and impossible to ignore. Thanks for joining us and bringing so much to the table David. JJ, myself, and everyone else is stoked!
